Breed Info

Rottweiler

The Rottweiler, with its strong build and confident demeanor, has a rich history that traces back to ancient Roman times when they served as herding and protection dogs. Today, they are beloved family companions known for their loyalty and protective nature. If you are looking for a breed that balances strength with affection, the Rottweiler might just be the perfect fit for your family. They thrive in homes with children, displaying a gentle yet playful spirit, making them wonderful playmates for young kids.

When it comes to energy levels, Rottweilers are moderately active, requiring regular exercise to stay healthy and happy. Daily walks, playtime, and mental stimulation are essential for these intelligent and eager-to-please dogs. Additionally, their grooming needs are fairly manageable, requiring weekly brushing to keep their coats looking their best while controlling shedding. While they are not typically high shedders, a commitment to grooming will ensure that your home remains comfortable and clean.

Rottweilers are known for their intelligence and are relatively easy to train, especially when introduced to consistent and positive reinforcement techniques. Their affectionate nature makes them responsive to training, and they bond closely with their families, wanting nothing more than to be part of the pack. If you are considering welcoming a Rottweiler into your home in the Petland Lake St. Louis & Fenton, MO area, you can expect a devoted companion who will both protect and love your family unconditionally.
