Breed Info

Coton De Tulear

The Coton De Tulear, often affectionately referred to as the "Royal Dog of Madagascar," is a delightful small breed celebrated for its charming personality and striking appearance. Known for their friendly and affectionate nature, these dogs thrive in family settings, making them a wonderful addition to homes with young children. Their gentle and adaptable temperament means they also tend to get along well with other pets, including cats and dogs.

With a moderate energy level, Coton De Tulears enjoy playful activities but are equally content with cozy cuddle sessions on the couch. Their friendly demeanor makes them perfect for apartment living, as they are not overly demanding in terms of exercise. However, they appreciate regular walks and playtime to keep their spirits high and their minds engaged. Their moderate shedding means that grooming them a few times each week is both manageable and rewarding, as their soft, fluffy coat is a joy to touch.

These intelligent little companions are quite trainable and will eagerly engage in obedience training and fun tricks. With their impressive capacity for learning, you will find them responsive to positive reinforcement. While they do make their voices heard occasionally, their barking tendency is generally moderate, which makes them suitable for various living situations. If you're looking for a loving, adaptable dog that will bring joy to your family, consider the Coton De Tulear, available at Petland Lake St. Louis & Fenton, MO, where you can meet the friendly faces ready to find their forever homes.
