The Maltipoo can thank his parents, a Maltese and a Poodle, for many of his great qualities. Maltese are said to be the oldest dog breeds known to man and have roots dating back to 3500 B.C. in Malta. These dogs are known for their loyalty and companionship and their warm demeanors. The Toy Poodle originated in Germany and was originally bred to be a water dog aiding hunters in retrieving small game.
